Steaming Ahead

Railway Preservation Society of Ireland (RPSI) preserved steam locomotive 85 Merlin, approaching the home semaphore signal at Castlerock on a steam special. Castlerock station is on the Londonderry to Coleraine line described by the TV presenter Michael Palin as one of the most scenic lines in Europe.

Since this image was taken the track has been circuited and colour light signals installed.
